Inspired by a love of the outdoors, KEEN began in 2003 with a simple design question. Can a sandal protect your toes? The answer was yes, and the Newport sandal was born, a game-changing close-toed performance water sandal that sparked the KEEN hybrid design philosophy that launched the company’s outdoor casual and performance products.

Since then, the brand has created more than 300 different styles of footwear across water, hiking, lifestyle, winter, kids and utility styles, as well as bags and socks, and has created a cult following of fans around the globe that share a love for outdoor adventures.

Inspired by the 2004 tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia, KEEN redirected its first-ever advertising budget to disaster relief. From this moment, Hybrid Care, their corporate giving program, was born, and since then the brand has donated more than $8 million in cash and resources to non-profits around the world.
